Dare to wither.

Random reflections.

We shouldn’t be afraid to reach our full potential in life and blossom. Yet we do. Are we so  scared of decay and rot and to be forgotten?

Seems that way.

We must not  fight what and whom  we were born to be.

Why do I have to pick the one tree that I love, over all the other ones, that is only with us briefly?

A blossom tree

giphy (13).gif

I wanted to get married under one. There is something so ethereal about them when I see them  at the height of their beauty.

Falling petals.

The moment they seem most exquisite is when they are closer to death than life.

I see beauty in death.

I see beauty in life.

I researched about what the Blossom tree has been used  for as a symbol.

In Japan, in world war 2,

It became the symbol  of patriotism to the Japanese people.

They too see how fleeting life is. All the more to live it with great deep breaths and with as much gusto and energy as one can.

LIVE!

giphy (14).gif

What does piss me off is the propaganda the government  spread around beliefs of the  blossom tree.

As poetic as it sounds : It is said that  people were encouraged to believe that when the souls of warriors died ,they came back as blossom flowers.

A lovely notion but this is on a par with Roman rhetoric. It is a manipulation and I hate seeing the words – Nature and manipulation standing together.

But can the two exist without the other?

I think, let flowers live and be what they are.

Let us humans live and be what we are.

Humans with a  heightened awareness of the fragility of life,

are the  ones that put the  humane in humaneness.

We don’t need to be any other but ourselves to stand out and be beautiful .

Look how how magnificent we look when we coexist with nature.

Appreciate what we have today.

Our beauty in all its manifestations from the second we  shine  never leaves us -not even in physical  death.

Yes.

It does transform.

Transformation is not a bad thing.

Revel in each one.

MINI LIFE UPDATE

Daisy gets hang out with a lovely bunch of Blossoms this evening. It has come around with great rapidity .

My hen do!

I’m so excited. I feel like my tender has sprinkled drops over me, stroked my petals and said:

“you are loved and tonight we are going to make sure you don’t become a wall flower and keep the weed side of you  at home.”

First night out since NYE 2015. A wedding costs a lot of money

. Obvious fact of the day. 😉

Me today?

Always closer to death but rocking the wabisabi philosophy.

“Wabi-sabi reminds us that we are all transient beings on this planet—that our bodies, as well as the material world around us, are in the process of returning to dust.

Nature’s cycles of growth, decay, and erosion are embodied in frayed edges, rust, liver spots. Through wabi-sabi, we learn to embrace both the glory and the melancholy found in these marks of passing time.”

Beautiful because I am withered.

“today is the tomorrow we worried about yesterday and all is well” -DALE CARNEGIE -(writer  1888-1955)

Today I’m going to combine an awesome quote I have recently heard and I want to  give shout out  to all the new flowers I have met  since last week Thursday.  Thanks for  hanging out in my neck of the woods 🙂

I’ve chosen  the above  quote because there is no better time than NOW to focus on and do what you want to do.  Today I wanted to take time to pause and reflect. I want to share my gratitude in the only way I know how – to write .

This is the second group shout out I  have done.

If gratitude was a colour…

“Some people grumble that roses have thorns; I am grateful that thorns have roses.”
Alphonse Karr, A Tour Round My Garden

WHY I CHOSEN THIS QUOTE

To me it seems kind of obvious what this dude means.

It’s rather more  optimistic -a great improvement from #FollowGreatFootsteps quote yesterday.

Yesterday I couldn’t get out.

It was a miracle that I got some exercise done ( to shut up the eating disorder critters) and managed to clean the house, blog and read blogs and get a bath and spend a bit of time with my G and Bella Bee

It might not sound like much; for me:   when my mood shifts- getting out of bed is an achievement.

No joking around.

The scales are still being twats.

Give me the number I want!

It is like a screwed up version of playing the lottery. The exception is the more you lose the richer and happier you become.

When I think of roses.I think YELLOW -my favourite colour rose.

yellowroses8

It makes me smile. My Gran once bought me a butterfly shaped trinket.

It says on it :

“Happiness is like a butterfly, it settles on those  when you least expect it”

Yesterday, my Bella bee and my G came home with a wild Daffodil they had found -yellow,  I associate the colour with happiness.

Maybe that is why I kept my bathroom painted in  a  fizzy ,repugnant yellow for 7 years -in my not so new home.  It was the first bathroom  I didn’t use laxatives and abuse my body. It is a place I associate with peace and no pain . I am talking about a toilet here.

Peace in a toilet?

Is there such  a thing?

I could be talking through my ass but I can do these things. It’ my blog- (sticking out my tongue)

If I touch a rose I get pricked -possibly multiple times but it is worth pain to behold in your hands; something that has  the scent of a new born day-dewy and fresh.

No wind.

No rain.

That has passed already.

I get to touch a petal.

Natures clothe of  velvet.

A newly blossomed rose is quite a  stunning sight.

Check me out trying to get all poetic. HA HA!

fa7f8bd048070ae2b1564242bc91fae91c9a1a9a16cf5555045cc902857a9e65

No seriously,

we have to go through some pricks -people or experiences, if we want chance to feel the beauty that is happiness .

Thorns makes us bleed.

It says:

DON’T TOUCH MY FUCKING ROSE!

Only joking.

To me :it says you are going to have to feel pain in life and it’s going to cut you up but it will be worth it.

If  a  rose can blossom living amongst the thorns then so can you. Our  lives and  our selves blossom in  spite of  all the pain we have to go through.

Those very thorns can protect us. Experience teaches us.

The suffering is 100% worth it in the long run. So what game are you playing ?

The long sprint or the short cuts?

Just something to think about ….

If you have read the blurb bit already, no need to unless you want .:D

HERE IS THE BLURB BIT

I’m always looking for great quotes so if you have one that is unusual or unique -let me know in the most recent post comment sections.

I will make sure I post your quote/ folk tale/proverb/ in #FollowGreatFootsteps category and I will send a a direct link to your page:)

*OPTIONAL* -add a short or long comment about why you love a particular quote a simple word or to on what it means to you.

THE ONLY RULE IS : MY DECISION TO USE A QUOTE WILL BE BASED ON THE FIRST COMMENT I RECEIVE WHEN I OPEN UP MY  EMAILS AT 5 A.M.

Why do it?
Who doesn’t love a good quote?

Bringing inspiring quotes into our conscious minds gives us the chance to try and adopt that quality we love in an inspirational person

Mortality

“Don’t send me flowers when I’m dead. If you like me, send them while I’m alive.”- Brian Clough
#FollowGreatFootsteps

WHY HAVE I CHOSEN THIS QUOTE:

I know a few people who I am very close to who have passed on and I know that laughter stirs them to check up on me. They hated tears because that was associated with pain. In death we leave pain. I use laughter to help me gain a perspective on death.

Me , being ill yesterday made me face up to my own mortality. I started thinking about my loves one and how as we grow older we are forced to examine where we stand on the subject of mortality.

I always think my Granddad ( a great business man in his time) is making business deals with Gods and it brings a smile to my face.

Always look for the silver lining. 🙂

Catch up with you later .

Loaves and Lillies- nurturing your core

” When you have only two pennies left in the world, buy a loaf of bread with one, and a lily with the other.” – Chinese proverb #FollowGreatFootsteps

WHY HAVE I CHOSEN THIS QUOTE?

The way I interpret this proverb is not only do we need to look after our bodies with good nourishing food but we need to nurture our spirit too. Flowers in nature  are a beautiful reminder of how  to  take care of yourself =properly. It reminds us of the power of nurturing our body and spirit. If you take the time to be kind to yourself, like a flower you will blossom into something beautiful ,alive-  physically and spiritually. You will be in synch. Do you look at the meaning in another way?

*RE FRESH* If you have a cool quote/proverb/folk tale or anything inspirational or unique you want to share. Pop in in the comments section of this post. I will post it and paste a link directing people to  the source of the quote -YOU  and YOUR BLOG  🙂
