I’ve decided to get tough and work with an inherent quirk: self sabotage.
I’ve given it an ultimatum.
I’ve been quiet-ish and random (on here )because I’ve been a busy bee working on fulfilling my true passions.
Here’s a brief check in about what I’m currently doing in my life – I’, encouraging me to look after myself with kindness and make myself happy.
I equate privilege and wealth with inner happiness – This is my currency for lasting happiness.
I’m embracing all my connections to get my life sorted and reach my goals.
I’m still here and I will use whatever it takes to.. ahem.
break on through to the other side………. thanks Jim Morrison
I’m doing my final year with my Masters, I’m embracing life as a single parent. Reclaiming my life and merging multiple passions/goals of mine:
Don’t count on other people ‘to pat you on the back’ . Be your own mascot , cheer yourself on. Create silver linings out of stormy days. Use a hurricane life event to take stock , re evaluate.re- define, and acquire new skills and materials to start over.
Rely on yourself. Don’t rely on other people to make you feel validated. Focus on the bigger picture and leave short term fixes to a minimun.
I think many people give so much of their energy to others. I also thinks many people give very little to others .
I think it’s time we should be kind to ourselves too
I stand by my belief that nobody can define me :
I’ve re defined my ‘black sheep’ role in my family and society – I am not a sheep.
Being selfish is not a negative word. It’s necessary for self development, growth to help us become more productive ,and to pursue our goals This often means, listening carefully to our inner self , Don’t flinch or run away from change. Embrace change and fear. Don’t be afraid of success.
This blog is/has always been for me . ( I believe in sharing what makes me happy) because it may help others.
I strive to be authentic and to never be a “sell out”.
I support creativity. I believe every human being and species is/are creative. We need to explore a variety of ways to express ourselves. I am finally merging my passions. My new page will be a regular addition to ‘the willows’ ( everyone is welcome)
I’m finally reciprocating with the people who seek me out and who I respect. The people I feel are living the dream: being true to themselves .
I’m finally in a position to support and share creative individuals content who I think are G.O.A.T.
What is this G.O.A.T. Miss Daisy ?
G,reatest O.f A.ll Time a hit , number one, in competition with nobody but themselves, self defined, not afraid to stand alone or connect, original, authentic, generous ,understands wealth and privilege is not about being rich in a monetary context or about wanting to be famous for superficial reasons.
One of the Highly intellegant animals that lives in rocky mountains. These creatures actually seem to be smarter than the average human being, however they don’t have all the technology because of a lack opposable thumbs
It’s been a stressful year, survived – again! I received my results for my first TMA for my MA . I’m currently going through my options and rights as a student with the institution I am studying with. I can’t really go into all the details it at this point. I have received an unofficial apology and have been advised to take it further.
I will say: I won’t be bullied by anybody.
The themes I write about are close to my heart. I will fight for an official apology , I’m not so sure about asking for it to be remarked-although other people who have read my work and, understand stage and theater and the issues I raise say I should demand a remark.
For me, it’s more about the principle. The people in my life who know the full story of what has happened (especially those who have seen the comments) which don’t focus on the academic side of my writing (and who work in the mental health and vulnerable sector in my community) are furious on my behalf and are horrified by the ignorance displayed the person who marked my paper.
I have all the evidence and support to take it further, I just need to make a decision.

Which decade do you miss the most?
I don’t miss it because I wasn’t alive at the time. I do feel drawn to the twenties. I love jazz, I love the bohemian artsy fartsy-ness of that time, politics, and art movement that brought so many creative and eccentric and bloody brilliant minds together. I hate war but I love the culture that grew from such an inauspicious time.
Yes, I love the decadence- ignorance is bliss -for a brief moment. I love the lingo, the dancing, the style, I love all of it. The struggles during the war which is a stark contrast to the early 20’s.
I also have always loved Rap/hip hop. I had to know every word of Snoop Dogs lyrics. I do think he promoted his brand in a sexist manner but I love his smooth, humorous and effortless way of rapping that doesn’t come across like he wants to start a war. It was about the Fedora hats and Pimps – it wasn’t meant to be taken too seriously but everyone has their own interpretation of the music and the culture that grows from a genre of music.
I do wish I had been around when disco and hip-hop emerged in the late 1970’s and 80’s. I love Grandmaster Flash, Mr. Hollywood etc..
I appreciate how important music is in forming a culture and how it can divide and bring people and communities together.
I was a rave bunny, a mosher , a skater girl, a raggamuffin.
I love all music.
I love writing.
I love poetry.
I was a part of the E generation of the nineties. Alcohol wasn’t a popular drug to get high on and I saw a lot less fighting and a lot of different sub -cultures come together and accept each other for their differences.
To which poet do you feel most connected to?
Charles Bukowski and Sylvia Plath -(didn’t think much of her novel ‘Bell jar’ ) I do love her poetry.
Your spirit cartoon character/TV show artist?
Erm… My latest love is ‘Reign’ – just finished binge watching all three seasons and I love the politics and the scandal of that era and I love to see queens kicking butt. Queen Mary of Scots, Queen Elizabeth Ist rock!
How has your blog helped you the most?
I get to write and people read my posts and get me! What more can I ask for?
I ‘ve made some awesome connections through blogging – It is a great way for me to express myself in any way I wish. This blog and the people who support me have seen me through some crazy and turbulent times.
I nominate -(I know some of these are award free blogs but I feel you have been a great support and ray of sunlight in times of need, whether you know it or not)

4THERACE Q&A TIME
1. What are the 5 best films of the decade thus far (so that’s 2010-2016)?
I’m going by what I have seen ( state the obvious why don’t I?!)
Absolutely Fabulous – the movie!
The Get down ( it is a series but I am hooked. My inner teen has a TINY crush on the wordsmith.
(through gritted teeth) I enjoyed watching ‘Suicide Squad’– in my defence, I think it was the soundtrack that swayed me 😀
The conjuring two. – creepy.
Lucy – what a find!
2.Favourite French Film? If you don’t have one, then favorite foreign language film?
It has to be ‘La vie en Rose’ I love Edith Piaf. Her music brings me to tears.
3. If you could only watch 5 films for the rest of your life, what would they be?
Bell Vue rendezvous
Alice in Wonderland ( 1950’s Disney version)
Water for Elephants
Natural Born Killers
4.What do you have to say about modern cinema?
I’m not really a film connoisseur. I do like my indie/independent films. I like going to the cinema. – Does that count? The cinema experience is fun – warm popcorn, surround sound.
5. Anime. Yes or No? Why?
I’ve watched a few bits and bobs when my husband watches them .I think they are unique, I guess I should give it a proper watch and then make a decision. If I did that I would be condoning my husbands taste in a genre – ha ha!
6. What is a television show that you would suggest to anyone?
Anyone? I was going to shout‘American Horror story’ but not everyone is into so-called horror. I’ve just finished watching season five of ‘Once upon a time’– it’s really opened my imagination and helped generate my writing.
7.What do you admire most about the WordPress blogosphere?
The people. The community- without it I don’t think I would still be Blogging.
8.What inspired you to write your blog?
WOW! erm… nobody in particular. I just set a goal and said I am going to write a Blog and I did it and that’s it. I have found inspirational bloggers on here that have kept me going. I love a challenge.
9.What would you like to see your blog evolve into (if you want it to evolve)?
I want to link more of my real life endeavors with my Blog -one would be my volunteering. I would like to be able to help people help themselves with certain programmes I have done and trained on. I am in two minds about sharing my vintage jewellery business on here. I may have a link on this Blog, in the future, to my online shop. I don’t want this Blog to be a marketing merchandise blog.
10. What is a blog here on WordPress that you would recommend to anyone and why?
I would have to say Jason from Harsh reality. He is successful. He has writing talent. He uses his blog as a platform to help promote new writers with their books. He is funny. He is not afraid to put his opinion out there.
11. What advice would you give to someone who doesn’t know what they want to do in the future?
Blog wise? mmm, I would say start with what is going on in your life. That is how I started my Blog. My blogs content evolves with what I do in my Life. I like that about my Blog. I like to see it evolving. I don’t like stagnation. I like movement. I like to dance and keep on the go.
THANK YOU FOR THIS NOMINATION.
Drum roll, please.

Which is better – to speak a lie that saves or a truth that kills?
I’m known for being rather blunt and too honest for my own good. I think I have offended people with my truths but I’d rather be real than be fake. I suppose there are different ways to speak the truth that doesn’t come across as obnoxious. Then there are Truths that can’t be dressed up. Tell it like it is….
2. Whose blog do you relate with and why?
WOW! There are so many. Lately, so many of you have been so supportive. The first name that comes to mind isETTA D’sblog – more because I’ve needed to hear motivating and inspirational posts. My 7 Nominees are the other Blogs I have related to of late.
3. They say money can buy happiness, how correct is the statement for you?
No. Not true inner Happiness but as the saying goes ‘ it’s easier to cry in a Mercedes Benz than on crutches with no car or money to get to THAT festival you want to go to.’ -It’s kind of like the saying, isn’t it? It smooths over the rough times but it’s more of a plaster than genuine happiness and contentment.
DOROTHY @ ETCETERA You have a wonderful Blog. So great, you now have a new friend. Can’t wait to read your future posts 🙂 T Y.
I can’t accept the award because I am going to be a true character and step out of my rebellious role (just this once) and follow the rules for once.
I can nominate.
I intend to keep this award to nominate any new Bloggers who happen to have under 1000 mates in the Blogosphere, when I do my Blog scouting and SHOUT OUTS and thank you’s – soon.
Watch this space.
for those who are not aware, the liebster award is given to bloggers who share great contents and have less than a thousand followers. it is one way to recognize and promote the efforts and works of new bloggers.
time flies like the wind but fruit flies like bananas.
That is my epically silly start to this fabulous post to say a huge HELLO and WELCOME to The Willows. There are some epic Blogs on this list.
Every week I take a look at all my lovely new friends in the Willows – Give you all a massive SHOUT OUT and then I pick a post that connects with me like in a spiritual way , kind of thing… like a hippy vibe….
ahem .. let me clear that up.
-so what I do each week/fortnight is I have a good look around all of your Blogs and pick out a Blog post of yours to share on here.
I LIKE TO CALL THEM DAISY’S STAR POST PICK!
Ha ha! I am not a hippy but I do believe if anyone should drop something it should be BEATS and not BOMBS.
THANK YOU as always. I am so overwhelmed by your support and Word Press is a great spot to be a part of in the Blogosphere.
A song to listen to while you check these amazing Bloggers out!
So without further ado – please welcome all these blooming marvelous Bloggers to the Willows and beyond.
So it is that time to sing all your praises – new flowers and trees / plants – whatever you wish to be.
WELCOME TO THE WILLOWS.
This is what I do each week. SHOUT OUTS!
I give a shout out and share a post from your blog that hits me.
I like to express my gratitude and at the same time, give -all my other lovely friends in the Willows, new Blogs to check out.
I have decided to do what I did last week and accept an award and nominate not only ten people I already follow ( the first number that came to my mind) but also to nominate you for this award too. Simply because… I can..
Ha ha! No, I jest, I jest…..
The reason will become apparent now.
The intention of this award is to encourage connectivity and support in the blogging community and to increase exposure for individual bloggers.
Thank you, Brooke. I have followed you since I started blogging and when I think of you I think pure white sand, balmy weather, a Mediterranean vibe, and cocktails 😀 – the cocktail bit is my added idea of what should get the thumbs up in Utopia.
I sometimes think that you must be telepathic because whenever I read your posts, it feels like you have tapped into my brain and drawn out something that I need to face and draw strength from.
The song that comes to mind when I think of you is this. I don’t know why but I just do.
The shout outs I do are to say thank you and to acknowledge I have actually taken the time to check out someone’s blog and give them a chance to connect with others and be seen. I don’t get any ££££££££’s or $$$$$$$$’s to promote Blogs. I just do it cos..
Sometimes words fail me. I am a writer, so when I come across a blogger who I connect with for reasons such as this, I like to use music to express the mood of the Blog, or how I feel about the blog and person behind the blog.
This might not seem completely original. I sense there is a lot of courage, confusion, chasing for answers, making sense of this world and all that has happened to this Blogger and what journey she is currently on…..
Here is the award to attach to your post -if you so wish accept it.
Give a brief story on how your blog started.
My Blog started because I have loads going on in my head and sometimes in the real world all those words, trip over one another, and the meaning gets lost. I don’t know if it is just my personality or mental health issues. It is all me. Writing has always been a way I can connect. I wanted to see if I am indeed my own worst critic. I truly am. Ha ha!
Give a piece of advice or two to new bloggers.
Okay. Im going to mix this up a bit.
(Enter) PREACHY DAISY : HI
Okay here is what I have to say. I can’t believe how successful I feel I have been in the word press community.
Um…. er.. what do I say?
Every week or two, I do personalised shout outs to all the new friends who stick around the willows. I follow a variety of different blogs for many different reasons.
As my life gets busier and my virtual life gets more hectic too, I have realised that I can’t do everything and follow every blog who follows me.That is why I do the shout outs. I usually do end up connecting with many of you -some where down the line.
I’m not just the kind of blogger who goes ‘ A like for a like? like totally I’m up for that shit!’
I am kind of blunt and yeah….I think that is for me ( my opinon) fucking superficial.
but.. we all have different agenda’s and that is cool too. It doesn’t mean Bloggers who do that ARE superficial. It just feels that I am being superficial if I did that.
Variety is the spice of life ,right?
I’m here for many different reasons. I have built up strong connections with many bloggers on here. Some don’t follow me. I’m not elementary.
I don’t go –
“mmmh I followed you and you didn’t follow me! thats it you are unfollowed!”
Not my style really. Unless I hear a troll stampede then it’s
In September it will be one year since I started Blogging.
I don’t sugar coat my words.
I have noticed some bloggers follow then unfollow and then the next week follow again.
Please don’t take offence but from now on I don’t do second shout outs unless I want to
Just like we all do,I have a busy life too.
I do as much as I can. Blogging is not something I want to see as a chore. you know?
So, whoever I lose or don’t lose out of this post – all I can say is -in my experience- Quality has always served me better than quantity.
I like to interact with the people I follow and those who choose to join the willows..
I’m only human.
I love getting to know you all. I can’t spread myself too thin. I want a sandwich with a lot filling ha ha.
Okay this week/month/year . I am behind with accepting awards and tags and nominating other awesome bloggers.
so every person who is on this list is nominated for the blogger recognition award. I have decided to not only give you a shout out but share one post per blogger – that catches my heart / mind /soul.
So, that is it really. I’m not a heartless bitch. I swear. I’ve just got to the point where I need to regain some kind of balance in both worlds.
There was a bit of advice in there, no? ha ha!
So lets get back to the fun shit. Meet all these awesome bloggers who make me feel like this
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR FINDING ME – My Heart is bloody blooming
Select 15 ( I ‘m breaking the rules) other blogs you want to give the award to.
If you want to accept THE AWARD,the rules are at the end of the post. Have a fab week!
